I believe the task of the teacher is to educate a child's whole being. My teaching aims to ignite a fire of curiosity within students, provoke their biases, and see the world through empathetic eyes.

Inspiring Teachers
Literacy Design Specialist
My belief in educational equity led me to align with Inspiring Teachers, working as a Literacy Expert to co-found and implement a literacy program in rural Ghana and Uganda. The program is designed to up-skill teachers in literacy methods, improving the learning outcomes of students. We plan to extend this program throughout Africa in 2024, assisting thousands of students across the region to attain vital literacy skills.

Big Trip
As a Big Trip teacher, I had the opportunity to take a group of Year 10 students to Europe, backpacking through France and Spain on an educational journey. I strongly believe in the power of first-hand learning experiences and the Big Trip allowed me to educate students in a unique and effective way. We hiked the Camino de Santiago and explored big cities and country towns, opening their eyes to other ways of life.

Year 9 Coordinator
Working as a Year Coordinator has always been a joy. I relish the opportunity to mentor students during a crucial phase of their growth, supporting their learning and wellbeing needs. This role has allowed me to engage the cohort on multiple camps and excursions, as well as support their learning in the classroom. Some highlights include taking the cohort to the WOMAD music festival, excursions to museums, art galleries, and writer's festivals.
Denmark Senior High School
Year Coordinator 11 & 12
I am passionate about being a positive role model and changing the lives of the young people in my community. My caring nature and dedication to the wellbeing of my students prompted the senior school cohort to formally request me as their Year Coordinator. I have relished every moment of this pastoral care role, often taking the students out in nature to learn more about themselves and to help them discover empathy and resilience.

Media Academy
Due to the incredible success of the Media program amongst students, I was awarded the opportunity to create the Media Academy program; a selective Arts program for passionate and curious students. The program ran before school as well as during school hours. This project required me to develop a rigorous program, using research-back methods to cater for gifted learners.

Literacy Intervention Program
I served as the Head of Literacy at Denmark Senior High, overseeing whole school literacy programs to ensure every student has the literacy skills needed to thrive in this world. Working with staff in all areas of the school, we implemented a literacy intervention program, focusing on a whole-school approach to improve the literacy and learning outcomes of students.
